Brockville – The Brockville Bunnies were rained out this past Saturday before splitting a pair of games on Sunday in Montreal versus the Montreal Titans.
Game 1 – Titans 18 – Bunnies 8:
The games was a carbon copy of the game versus Titans in an earlier matchup in Plattsburgh tourney as pitching and defence was less than stellar. The Bunnies pitchers struggled allowing 13 hits, 8 walks and hit 7 batters (ouch) while the team in the field didn’t help making 7 errors.
Charlie Todd took the loss with relief from Aaron Roy, JJ Easton and Eamon Morrison. Max DeCoteau (S, D, RBI), Roy (S, D, RBI) and Zadok Roiger all with 2 hits. Lukus Doak (RBI), James Spooner (RBI), while Parker Ames and Matt Barkley singled.
Game 2 – Bunnies 13 – Titans 1:
A good bounce back game that was called when the mercy rule came into effect.
Roiger with the dominant start and win going 5 innings giving up 4 hits, and 1 earned run. Equally impressive was the 67 pitches and 52 strikes.
Hopefully all pitchers took notes on what happens when a pitcher throws strikes and works quick. Wyatt Last returned to form with 3 hits (S,D,T,3 RBIs).
Barkley singled and added an inside the park homer with 3 RBIs, Roiger doubled with 3 RBIs while Todd (2 RBIs) and Nolan Orazietti singled.
Bunnies make the most of 8 hits, 6 walks and 7 stolen bases.
Bunnies were to play a home game on Wednesday night versus the Kingston Jr Ponies 18u but was cancelled due to all the rain that fell on Wednesday morning making the field unplayable,
The Bunnies are on the road this weekend when they play the North Country Bombers 18u in Massena on Saturday, before travelling to Montreal to finish up the Can-Am regular season with games versus the Diamonds 18u.
League playoffs after that.
