City of Brockville Construction Notice: Reconstruction of Bartholomew Street

Brockville – The City of Brockville, Engineering Division, along with their contractor Len Corcoran Excavating, will begin the reconstruction of Bartholomew Street from King Street to James Street on Tuesday, August 4th, 2026.

The work is expected to take a few months and should be completed by the end of October 2026. Please revisit this site for more updates as they become available.

What is being done?

The project includes:

  • full replacement of water, sanitary and storm mains and services to the property line
  • reinstatement of all road bed
  • new asphalt roadway
  • new concrete sidewalks and curbs

Why is the work being done:

This work is essential to replace aging and deficient infrastructure and for maintaining safe drinking water, sufficient supply of water for fire fighting purposes, sewage collection and the safe and efficient road system in the City of Brockville.

What should residents expect?

  • Residents can expect a full road closure of Bartholomew Street from King Street to James Street. This closure will commence August 4th, 2026.
  • Residents on side streets can expect to see an increase in traffic as well as an increase in vehicles parking. The residents of Bartholomew will be displaced from their driveways and will need to park on sides streets adjacent to the site. These cars will be identified with dashboard temporary parking passes.
  • Traffic delays
  • Large truck and equipment present in the area
