Youth Opportunities in the Arts Presents Fame JR. This August at Arts Hub Brockville

Brockville – Youth Opportunities in the Arts (YOA) is proud to present Fame JR., the high-energy musical celebrating creativity, perseverance, and the dreams of young performers. Audiences are invited to experience this inspiring production at Arts Hub Brockville, 32 Park Street, from August 28–30, 2026.

Based on the iconic stage musical and film, Fame JR. follows the lives of talented students attending New York City’s renowned High School for the Performing Arts. Through unforgettable songs, dynamic choreography, and heartfelt storytelling, the production explores friendship, determination, and the courage it takes to pursue a dream.

Presented by Youth Opportunities in the Arts, the production features a talented cast of local young performers, ages 10 to 35, who have spent the summer developing their skills in acting, singing, dancing, and technical theatre. True to YOA’s mission, every participant has been able to take part free of charge, thanks to the generous support of community sponsors, volunteers, and donors.

“At Youth Opportunities in the Arts, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to discover their creative potential,” said Co-Producers Deanna Powers and Harold Hess. “This production showcases not only incredible talent but also the confidence, teamwork, and lifelong friendships that grow through the performing arts.”

The creative team includes acclaimed local theatre professionals Chris Coyea (Director), Judy Quick (Music Director), Anita Mortsch (Choreographer), Jordan Ross (Stage Manager), and a dedicated team of volunteers who have helped bring this production to life.

● Sunday, August 30 – 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are $25 for Adults and $15 for Students and are available now through TicketsPlease.ca. Advance purchase is encouraged, as tickets will not be available at the door.
