Augusta – An Grenville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation into alleged assaults involving several victims has resulted in multiple assault charges for an Augusta resident.
OPP say officers responded to a disturbance at a residence in Augusta Township on January 11, 2026. An investigation found alleged assault-related offences dating back several years.
The individual is facing two counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon for a dangerous purpose and one count of failing to comply with an order.
Police say the suspect remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
A publication ban has been issued, preventing police from releasing further information.
The Grenville County OPP Crime Unit is leading the investigation with assistance from the Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team and Forensic Identification Services.
