Brockville – Exceptional care deserves to be recognized. Through the Wave of Gratitude Program, hosted in partnership with Brockville & District Hospital Foundation and Brockville General Hospital, patients and families have an opportunity to share their thanks and recognize the people who made a meaningful difference in their care.

Our latest Wave of Gratitude presentation celebrated five individual recipients and two teams whose compassion, dedication and commitment to patients left a lasting impression.

“Congratulations to the latest recipients of Brockville & District Hospital Foundations’ Wave of Gratitude awards,” said Julie Caffin, President and CEO, Brockville General Hospital. “These recognitions are especially meaningful because they come from patients and families who have experienced first-hand the compassion, skill, and dedication of our staff, physicians, volunteers, and teams from across the hospital. Each honouree reflects the exceptional care provided at Brockville General and the positive difference our people make in the lives of those we serve every day.”

“Gratitude has a wonderful way of creating a ripple effect.” said Trish Buote, Executive Director of the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation. “When someone chooses to make a donation in honour of a caregiver, they are not only recognizing that individual or team, they are helping support exceptional care for patients across our community.  We are honoured to celebrate these stories of compassion and kindness through Wave of Gratitude.”

Congratulations to our first-time individual honourees:

• Tracey Hainer from our Emergency Department

• Christopher Avery from Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit

• Travis Coughlin from Cardiac Rehab

• Mandy Van Allen, from The Women & Children’s Program

• Vanessa Wheeler from Surgical Services

• Dr. Andy Thomas from the Palliative Care Team

Each nominee was recognized by a grateful patient, friend or family member, with donations made in their honour as a meaningful way to show appreciation for the exceptional care they provided.

The presentation also celebrated two team recognitions.  The Palliative Care Team received its seventh and eighth Wave of Gratitude recognitions, a testament to the profound impact the team continues to have on patients and families in our community.

The Brockville General Volunteer Association Gift Shop Team was also honoured with their first-time recognition, highlighting the kindness and care they bring to their work and to those they serve.

Wave of Gratitude is more than a recognition program.  It is an opportunity for patients, friends and family to share their stories of exceptional care, celebrate the people who made a difference and inspire others by sharing their gratitude.

To all of this year’s honourees, congratulations and thank you for the care you provide each and every day.

All recipients are proudly displayed on the Wall of Gratitude at Brockville General Hospital.

For those unable to visit in person, the new Virtual Wall of Gratitude shares the inspiring stories of each honouree and their impact
