VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Braves Won Home Opener 3-2 Over Carleton Place Friday Night in CCHL

Brockville – The Brockville Braves opened the new era with an entertaining, action packed 3-2 win over the Carleton Place Canadians on Friday night in CCHL action at the Memorial Centre.

Thiam, Regan and Boudet scored for the Braves and Hedman stood tall in the net to secure the victory.

Carleton Place opened the scoring at 11:30 of the first period when Marks converted on the power play, assisted by Mears, giving the Canadians a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes.

Brockville responded quickly in the second, with Thiam and Regan scoring just 2:20 apart to put the Braves ahead. Carleton Place answered at 11:01 when Cooling scored shorthanded, assisted by Bergeron and Bailey, sending the teams to the second intermission tied 2-2.

The Braves regained the lead at 2:36 of the third when Boudet finished a pass from Thiam, and Brockville held on through the remainder of the period.

Hedman earned the win for Brockville with 25 saves on 27 shots. Carleton Place’s Suski stopped 29 of 32 shots in the loss.

The Braves out-shot the Canadians 32 to 27 during the game.
