Brockville – On October 16, 2026, at approximately 9:00 am, police received information regarding a youth at the Starbucks, located in the area of Parkedale Avenue and Stewart Boulevard, who was reportedly in possession of what appeared to be a replica firearm.
The firearm was described as red in colour. The youth was observed acting in a concerning manner in the store and allegedly pointing the item at passing vehicles after leaving the store.
Although the firearm was believed to be a replica, officers responded immediately due to the serious nature of the report and the potential risk to public safety.
Police located the youth a short distance away and identified him as a 14-year-old male. The male was already bound by both bail conditions and a probation order stemming from previous charges.
The youth was arrested and found to be in possession of the replica firearm as well as a knife.
Both items were seized. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and charged with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Failure to Comply with an Undertaking
- Failure to Comply with a Probation Order
