Brockville – City Police have been investigating an incident of assault after a report of a staff member at Brockville General Hospital being assaulted by a female patient.
Police say that on March 10th around 6:30 pm, they had received a report of a Brockville General Hospital staff member, who was assaulted by a 20-year-old, female patient.
The female staff member had her hair pulled and had her head struck repeatedly against a handrail. Other staff intervened and stopped the assault.
Police said that the staff member received non-life-threatening injuries and the patient had to remain in hospital at that time for other reasons.
After the suspect’s release from the hospital, on March 20th, Brockville Police arrested and charged her with assault.
She was released with conditions and a future court date.
