22nd Annual Brockville Ribfest in Support of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville Being Held August 8th to 11th in Hardy Park

Brockville – It is almost that time of year again as the 22nd Annual Brockville Ribfest in support of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville is back next week from Thursday, August 8th to Sunday, August 11th in Hardy Park.

The largest fundraiser for Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville, as Canada’s leading child and youth mentoring charity, the funds raised help facilitate life-changing relationships that inspire and empower children and youth to reach their potential, both as individuals and citizens. By participating in Brockville Ribfest, you are helping them make a positive difference in the lives of our community’s youth.

This year’s ribbers are Ribs Royale, Silver Bullet, Dinosaur Smoke House, Smokehouse Bandits, Billy Bones BBQ, Bone Daddy’s BBQ, Bubba Lou’s Bar BQ and new this year Texas Jack’s BBQ.

There will be a Kids Zone, Vendor Village and Food Booths from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm on all four days.

Everything gets underway on Thursday, August 8th starting at 11:00 am. At 11 am is the Kids Dance Party with Boldt and at 7 pm is the Move for Mentoring 5k Fun Run.

Live music on Thursday starts at 1:00 pm and will see Issabel, Bradley Smith, Eternal Jamm, Cajone & the Hollow Bodies and wraps up with Country Rocks.

On Friday Ribfest opens at 11:00 am with live entertainment beginning at noon. The lineup includes Gabrielle Salmon, Birds of a Feather, Jimi Martin, and River City Junction and headlining will be The Outskirts.

Friday at 6 pm is the popular Howard Travel Rib Eating Contest. This challenge requires teams of four. There is no minimum fee to register but the team who raises the most amount of money wins a prize.

It is a relay-style race where contestants take turns eating juicy grilled ribs as fast as they can. The team who pigged out the fastest wins. The annual rib eating contest will take place on Friday, August 9th, at 6 pm on the main stage, and is a family favourite.

There will be prizes awarded to the team with the best team spirit, the most money raised, and the quickest time. So suit up, paint your faces, and find a unique way to show your team spirit.

Saturday will see the annual Brockville Hyundai Beach Volleyball Tournament starting at 8:30 am in Hardy Park. The deadline to register is August 6th. To register please visit: https://www.biggerevents.ca/brockville-ribfest-volleyball-tournament.php

From 9:00 am to noon is the Brockville Police Cops & Kids Fishing Derby in Hardy Park. From 11:00 am to 7:00 pm is the annual Arm Wrestling Competition. The Kids Zone opens at 10:00 am until 8:00 pm.

Live entertainment from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm and will see, a Student Showcase, Ryan James, RPM, Almost Friday and the headliner, Epic Elton. The 3rd annual Ribfest Idol will take place on the main stage from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

At 7:00 pm on Saturday is the Pound Workout Class from Peak Performance.

On the final day on Sunday, everything kicks off with the Family Workout with Tandem Unified Wellness at 10:30 am. At 11:00 am, Meet and Greet with Rapunzel, and C&R Petting Zoo.

The entertainment lineup on Sunday will feature, Duo Loco, The Kingmakers, and finally Healy & Orr.

Rib judging results will be announced between 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm.
