Athens – Two people face charges after an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigation into drug trafficking in Athens.
The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation early this year, resulting in the execution of a search warrant on September 18, 2024, at a residence on Main Street in Athens, as well as three vehicles. This operation included officers from the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine Unit and Biker Enforcement Unit
Investigators seized over 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, as well as approximately eight grams of suspected fentanyl, a quantity of suspected cocaine and some unidentified pills. Over $1000 in cash was also seized.
Two people were arrested at the scene.
Sean WHITE, age 44, and Kylie CARSON, age 39, both residents of Athens, have been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
CARSON has also been charged with possession of a Schedule I substance. This accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on October 18, 2024.
WHITE remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville today – September 18, 2024.
