Prescott – Two people have been arrested for drug possession in Prescott after the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) East Region Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
The OPP say that the drug trafficking investigation began in the fall of 2024. The OPP Street Crime Unit members executed the search warrant on Thursday, November 28, 2024, assisted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit at a residence on Park Street East.
Police say they seized a quantity of suspected crack cocaine and items typically associated with drug trafficking.
As a result of the search warrant, police say four people were taken into custody at the scene.
Joshua MACKINNON, and Leah SERSON, both age 39 of Prescott, have been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance.
Both of these accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on December 13, 2024.
OPP also said that one individual was arrested on behalf of the Brockville Police Service for an outstanding warrant and released with a court date and another was released unconditionally.
