Smiths Falls – The Brockville Braves lost 6-2 to the Smiths Falls Bears in CCHL action Thursday night in Smiths Falls.
500 hockey isn’t good enough. Time for the team to pull up their pants and get back to their winning ways. Last night’s loss to the Bears was a costly one and tonight’s game versus the 73s is even bigger. Games in hand mean nothing if you don’t win a high percentage of them.
Let’s hope last night’s game was not the standard we are going to play to for the balance of the season. A mishandled puck in the offensive zone led to a breakaway. A line change caught the Braves with two Bears behind the defence and a nice passing play resulted in another goal.
On the positive side, Jesse Lumsden wheeled around after a faceoff in the Bear’s zone and stepped into a slapshot that beat Morrow cleanly.
It’s the 73s tonight, time to get back on the winning track, and make those games in hand count.
Brockville will host the Kemptville 73s tonight at the Memorial Centre. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
