Driver Facing Impaired Driving Charges

Brockville – A 31-year-old man is facing impaired driving charges after running a red light on March 30th.

Brockville Police say on Sunday, around 12:30 am, officers observed the male driver driving in the area of Central Ave. and Ormond St., and the vehicle was approaching a flashing red light at the intersection and made no attempt to stop.

Officers stopped the vehicle, and it was found that the driver had been drinking. A breath sample was taken with an approved screening device, and the test registered a fail. The subject was arrested and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing.

At the station, police say it was confirmed that the driver was impaired and then was charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired – drug alcohol concentration over 80mg and flashing red light – fail to stop.

The driver was later released with a future court date.
