
Brockville – The next installment of MEDtalks hosted by the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation is set for tonight, Tuesday, June 17th, at the Aquatarium.
They are bringing together a stellar cast of speakers to dive into Smart Moves for a Safe Summer, covering everything from sun safety and staying active to keeping your pets safe in the heat.
The guest speaker will be Dr. Linna Li, Deputy Medical Officer of Health at the South East Health Unit (the recently merged health unit that includes the previous Leeds, Grenville, and Lanark District Health Unit).
She completed her residency in Family Medicine and Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Queen’s University and also holds a Master’s in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University.
The topics they will cover include:
- Preventing early skin damage
- Recognizing the signs of heat stroke
- Travel and vaccinations
- Protecting yourself against ticks and mosquitoes
