
Brockville – As of this morning (Friday, June 27), work on the reconstruction of King Street West from Oak Street to Cedar Street has started.
Cedar and Oak Street are now closed for construction at King Street West.
Starting Wednesday, July 3, King Street in this construction area will be reduced to one lane and controlled by temporary traffic signals.
K. Mulrooney Trucking has been contracted by the City of Brockville’s Engineering Division to carry out the reconstruction of the water main and storm sewer on King Street West from Oak Street to Cedar Street.
This project includes the replacement of aging underground storm infrastructure as well as the replacement of water main, new sidewalks, curbing and partial asphalt road surface.
Preliminary work for this project will begin on the last week of June 2025, and the excavation work will begin on July 2nd, 2025.
During the excavation period of the project, King Street West will be reduced to one lane with the traffic controlled using temporary traffic signals, similar to 2024. Cedar Street and Oak Street will be closed at King Street.
Project Schedule:
- Late June: Preliminary work
- Early July: Excavation begins
- Mid-September: Concrete work
- End of September: Hot mix paving and soft surface restoration
