Brockville – The Brockville Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee (BMAAC) held their annual Brockville Accessibility Awards at last Tuesday night`s city council meeting.
They honoured three recipients: CNIB volunteer Linda Bosch, the Brockville Winter Classic Committee, and Reverend Dr. Kimberly Heath, Wall Street United Church.
Linda Bosch was recognized for supporting people with vision loss. She helps run a local peer support group and hosts a national online program that teaches kitchen safety for the sight-impaired.
The Winter Classic Committee was praised for adding an accessible viewing area at the Rotary Park ice pad.

Wall Street United Church was recognized for installing a ramp and elevator, and for promoting accessibility for all, including people with invisible disabilities.
The BMAAC chair, City Councillor Louise Severson, said at the end of the ceremony that the city needs more work to become fully accessible.
