Canadian Celtic Folk Group, Maggie’s Wake Performing in Lyndhurst July 26th

Lyndhurst – Maggie’s Wake, an award-winning Canadian, female-fronted “new trad” folk group, will be performing at Furnace Falls Farm just outside of Lyndhurst on Saturday, July 26th.

The 2025 CFMA Celebration Concert – “New Artist of the Year” have created an exciting splash in the folk music scene, blending high twang, classic country with contemporary takes on Celtic jigs and reels, cajun twin fiddles and reggae rhythms. Their music is an original, genre-hopping adventure that has captured the hearts of audiences across Canada and the United States.

United in their passion for fiery tunes, soaring vocals with rich harmonies, meaningful stories and beautiful melodies, Maggie’s Wake embraces their wide-ranging influences and has built an exciting, new sound. The band features award-winning songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Tara Dunphy (The Rizdales, Luther Wright and the Wrongs) and award-winning violinist/fiddler, songwriter & composer, Lindsay Schindler (Rant Maggie Rant, Trent Severn). The powerhouse backing band includes Andrew Kosty on bass, Kenneth Palmer on guitar and Myke Phillips on percussion.

Dale Watson, the Texas honkytonk legend, says, “You can’t grow if you rip your roots out of the ground,” and Maggie’s Wake has taken that to heart. They are honouring tradition while forging their own path in roots music.
