Brockville – Work on the William Street overpass continues to progress ahead of schedule, with substantial completion expected by the end of next week. The bridge deck waterproofing and asphalt have been completed, and crews were on site on Wednesday, August 20, installing the new guardrails.
In the meantime, City staff are exploring an opportunity to complete road milling while the area remains closed to traffic:
• North of the bridge: From Front Ave West to the bridge
• South of the bridge: From the bridge to Pearl Street West
This additional work is separate from the bridge rehabilitation, but by coordinating it now, we aim to reduce future lane closures and disruption later this fall.
Our goal is to have milling completed in time to reopen the road for the Labour Day long weekend, but this will depend on weather and contractor availability.
Please note that final paving will take place later this fall, in coordination with the City’s other asphalt resurfacing projects listed on this link: https://tinyurl.com/ybnfr5x4
Thank you for your patience as we work to improve our infrastructure.
