
Elizabethtown-Kitley — Harvex Agromat Inc. and Miller’s General Repair were named the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley 2025 Business of the Year at the Township’s Business Breakfast held Thursday, October 9, 2025 held at the Cedar Valley Golf and Country Club, located in the Township at 7041 County Rd 29.
Sam Asbreuk (manager) and Grant Vale (assistant manager) of Harvex, and Derek Miller and Angela Flood-Miller (owners) of Miller’s General Repair accepted the award from Mayor Brant Burrow, MP Michael Barrett, and MPP Steve Clark. The Business of the Year Award honours businesses that have demonstrated excellence in their field, longevity, innovation and involvement in their community.

Five businesses were nominated this year:
- Chit-Chat Convenience
- Classic Trophies & Gifts
- Harvex Agromat Inc.
- Jack Van Dusen Excavating Limited
- Miller’s General Repair and Services Limited
In acknowledgement of the accomplishments of the nominees, the Committee presented each in attendance with a certificate recognizing their excellence.

The event featured guest speaker Trish McNamara, Executive Director of the 1000 Island Community Development Corporation.
The Business of the Year award was created in 1994 to recognize the contributions of local businesses. This event marked the 30th Business Year Event and the 2nd breakfast hosted by the Township and Economic Development Committee.
