Brockville – MPP Steve Clark announced on Monday that the Provincial government is investing $25,000 through the Mental Health Supports for Public Safety Personnel program to three emergency services in Leeds & Grenville.

Funds will go to the Elizabethtown Kitley Fire Department, Brockville Police Service and the Leeds Grenville Paramedic Service.

“Mental health is of great concern to all of us, and the benefits of this funding will touch all members of the fire service across the province,” said Elizabethtown-Kitley Fire Chief Jeff Sargent.

The program provides specialized, accessible care for first responders and public safety workers.

A provincial program with a $32-million investment to provide a 24-hour call line, web portal, and services like internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy and peer support for police, firefighters, paramedics, and correctional workers.
