
Brockville – The loud bang heard around the city on Tuesday night was the controlled detonation of an old military ordnance found at a construction site, according to Brockville Police.
Police said they received a call earlier in the day regarding a military ordnance that was found at a construction site on Old Red Road.
Members from CFB Trenton were called in, and they safely conducted a controlled detonation of the item around 7:30 pm. Police said there was no risk to public safety.
The public is reminded that if you see anything suspicious or unfamiliar, do not touch it and contact your local police or authorities immediately so it can be safely examined.
