
Brockville – A 31-year-old, man is facing assault charges after a 911 call for assistance.
Police said they received the 911 call around 8:30 pm on Thursday, April 16, 2026 with a request for assistance at an address on Wall Street, then the call disconnected.
When police arrived they said they found out that the man and his girlfriend were involved in a dispute. The two were arguing after the woman confronted the man about substance use, and concerns in their relationship.
The police said the argument escalated with the man having spit on the woman several times, punched her abdominal area, and struck her with a salt shaker.
The victim received non-life-threatening injuries and the man was arrested, according to police.
Police searched the man and found in his possession a social insurance number card that doesn’t belong to him. Officers found out that the card in question was reported stolen in 2019.
The man was charged with the following:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Two counts of Assault
- Possession of an Identity Document
The man was held for a bail hearing.
