Brockville – On April 29, 2026, at approximately 8:30pm, the Brockville Police Service was notified by Walmart staff that a bomb threat had been received. The threat was similar in nature to one reported at the same location on April 26, 2026.
Officers responded promptly and worked with store staff to assess the situation and implement appropriate safety measures. The caller indicated that a device had allegedly been placed in a specific area of the store.
As a precaution, officers ensured that the identified area was kept clear of customers and staff. Given the proximity to the store’s regular closing time, procedures to close the store were initiated in an orderly manner.
Police conducted a thorough search of the reported area and found no suspicious items or devices. The threat was ultimately determined to be unfounded.
Detectives continue to investigate the source of these calls. Similar threats have recently been reported at Walmart locations in other jurisdictions across Ontario and even the United States.
While it is not yet known whether the incidents are connected, all investigative avenues are being explored.
The Brockville Police Service remains committed to public safety and would like to remind community members to report any suspicious activity that may pose a risk to others by calling 911.
Anyone with information related to these incidents is encouraged to contact the Brockville Police Service at 6133420127 or provide information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1800222TIPS (8477).
