Brockville – This Thursday, May 7th they will be performing a test of the National Public Alerting System across Ontario.
It is being held at 1:55 PM EDT. You may see or hear the alert on: TV, radio or mobile phones. No action is required. It is only a test.
Important notice:
If you or someone you know relies on a hidden phone for safety, be aware that it may emit a sound during the alert. Please turn it off or move it to a safe location in advance.
Please don’t call 911 for information about the test. Misusing 911 for non-emergencies can delay urgent help for people facing real crises.
Alert Ready is Canada’s emergency alerting system. Alert Ready delivers critical and potentially life-saving alerts to Canadians through television, radio and LTE-connected and compatible wireless devices.
The Alert Ready system was developed with many partners, including federal, provincial and territorial emergency management officials, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Pelmorex, the broadcasting industry and wireless service providers. Together, these partners work to ensure Canadians receive alerts immediately and know when to take action to stay safe.
