Brockville – Brockville Mayoral Candidate Tom Linton is hosting his Campaign Kick Off this Thursday, May 14th at the Brockville Legion.
It is being held upstairs at the Brockville Legion with the doors opening at 6:30 pm and the event starting at 7:00 pm. Everyone is welcomed.
Linton is a former two-term Elizabethtown-Kitley councillor who resigned from the township council in October 2024 midway through his second term.
He announced his intention to run for Mayor of Brockville on April 23rd on social media.
“I have spent my entire life in this beautiful area. I have seen our community through its challenges and its triumphs and my commitment to this city is not just professional, it is personal. It is about the streets we walk everyday and the future we want for our residents and families,” he stated in the Facebook post.
He went on to say that Brockville is a city that has incredible potential, but potential needs a plan.
“With my experience in Municipal council, specifically in planning and economic development, I understand the mechanics of growth. I also have the experience and will to make tough decisions when needed,” he continued. “As your Mayor, I will prioritize enhancing activities and infrastructure for our community. We need to build a Brockville that offers a high quality of life and robust opportunities that our children and grand children do not have to leave to find success elsewhere. They should find it right here in Brockville and be able to live in a safe, affordable home.”
Linton was the first to announce his candidacy for Mayor of Brockville, joining him in the race for Mayor is current City councillor, Cameron Wales.
There is only one unofficial candidate nomination for city councillor so far and that is Randy Chase.
The nomination period ends by August 24, 2026.
Residents will go to the poles on October 26, 2026.
