OPP Investigating Death at Augusta Township Residence

Augusta Twps. – Grenville Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a death after a person was found deceased inside a home in Augusta Township on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

OPP said in a media release that they responded just before 3:30 pm last Wednesday afternoon to a home on County Road 26 where officers found one person deceased at the scene.

“Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident, with no signs of a broader threat. Police continue to investigate and are actively monitoring the situation,” said Grenville OPP.

Police have not released the identity of the deceased or details about the circumstances surrounding the death. They also stated that residents in Augusta Township can expect to see an increased police presence while investigators remain in the area.

Police say that the investigation remains ongoing.
