North Grenville – What started as a disappointing and costly experience for a young person ended with a positive outcome thanks to community support and teamwork.
In May, Grenville County OPP asked for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in an online fraud where a young person selling an electric bicycle was given counterfeit cash before the suspect fled with the bike.
Thanks to information from the public and the collaborative efforts of the Grenville County OPP and Ottawa Police Service, the suspect was identified.
During the investigation, the stolen E-bike was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.
For the victim, the recovery of their property brought a difficult situation to a much happier conclusion.
Thank you to everyone who shared information and assisted with this investigation, and to the Ottawa Police Service – Service de police d’Ottawa for their partnership in achieving this positive outcome.
