Thousand Islands SS Parent Council Presents: Online Safety For Parents and Caring Adults

Our Parent Council has arranged for a noted expert on online safety to come and speak to interested parents and guardians. This event is on May 31st from 6:00 to 8:30.
Matt Richardson (bio attached) will speak about:

• Devices, Games, Apps, Platforms
• Online Risks and Predatory Behaviour
• Cyber-bullying
• Online Grooming Tactics and Lures
• Red Flags of Potential Danger
• Practical Family Strategies
• Getting Help
After Matt’s talk, we will have time for conversations with community partners from the Brockville Police Service, RNJ Youth, Victim Services of Leeds and Grenville, and the UCDSB’s Principal of Safe School, Don Lewis. These professionals can help you to understand the local context of internet issues, and how the community is addressing these important issues.
