Braves Lost Game 4, 4-3 in OT Thursday Night in CCHL Semi-final Series with Ottawa – VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS

Game 5 is back in Ottawa on Saturday night!

Brockville – The Brockville Braves lost 4-3 in overtime to the Ottawa Junior Senators on Thursday night in their best-of-seven CCHL semi-final series at the Memorial Centre.

What can I say? The Braves deserved a better fate in last night’s game 4. I would compare the all-round performance of the team to the way you build a team.

You start with goaltending, and Sami “The Sultan of Saves” Molu reigns supreme in the CCHL.

Then you add a strong D-Corps. To the man, these guys were great last night. The ranks were reduced by the injury to Josh Cole but the guys stepped up their game. Fearless Foster continued his offensive thrust, Ledrew and Henry contributed both offensively and defensively, while Avery Grant and

Liam Reid had to play extra minutes and kept the team in the game.
Up front, the boys were great. Once again the coach showed his faith in several players and spot duty kept the Sens on their toes.

Matt “Chuck” Yeager had maybe his best game of the series. Our best forwards were our best forwards and that is what is needed. Captain Culhane, Colin “The Big Train” Elliott and Nate “Bullet” Burelle were buzzing all night.

Powers and Yarde sent a few guys hurting to the bench. Eric Barnard picked up two assists, and he and Aiden Carolan were a threat every time they stepped on the ice.

Chuck Yeager’s tieing goal with less than two minutes left in regulation was my choice of hilite for the night. The unsportsmanlike gestures by the Sens, a very talented team, continue to disappoint.

We have had our back to the wall before, and Saturday will be no different. Game 5 is back in Ottawa on Saturday night starting at 7:10 pm at the Fred Barrett Arena
