Grenville OPP Weekly Police Reports – April 13, 2023, to April 20, 2023

Grenville Cty. – Police reports from the Grenville County Detachment of the OPP from April 13, 2023, to April 20, 2023.

AUGUSTA TWP – On April 15, 2023 shortly before 7:00 a.m., Grenville County Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a complaint of a vehicle all over the road travelling on County Road 21 in Augusta Township. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle which resulted in the driver being arrested.

A 19-year-old male from Brockville was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with;

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
The driver was released and is scheduled to appear at the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

AUGUSTA TWP – On April 16, 2023, shortly after 7:30 p.m., Grenville County OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after it failed to stop at a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on Second Concession Road and County Road 26, Augusta Township. After a brief investigation, the driver was arrested and taken to Prescott Detachment for further testing.

A 39-year-old male from Augusta TWP was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) and Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with;

Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) – CC
Operation while prohibited under the criminal code – CC
Driving while under suspension – HTA
Novice drive- B.A.C. above zero – HTA
The driver was released and is scheduled to appear at the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.

KEMPTVILLE – On April 18, at around 4:00 p.m., officers from Grenville County OPP responded to a call of shoplifting in progress at a nearby store located on Colonnade Drive, Kemptville. Officers located and arrested the male and seized the unpaid items in his possession.

A 41-year-old male, from Brossard QC, was charged under the Criminal Code (CC) with:

Theft over $5,000- shoplifting
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
The accused was held for a bail hearing the following day at the Brockville Ontario Court of Justice.
