Brockville – The Brockville Rowing Club has offered its Summer Rowing Camp for over 40 years. For many competitive athletes, both past and current, their Summer Camp is where it all began. It has been the gateway to rowing for more than twenty-five Canadian National Team Rowers, it has led to more than thirty scholarships to elite U.S Schools and has made hundreds of Provincial and National champions.

There are still some spots left for the 2023 Summer Rowing Camp.

In camp, they aim to teach the fundamentals of the rowing stroke, focus on the basic principles of rowing and have a whole bunch of fun. They do this by spending time on the St. Lawrence River, rowing in small (sculling) boats.

When they cannot row due to poor weather conditions, campers can expect to engage in rowing-related activities, such as using their rowing machines, playing athletic games, participating in rowing trivia and history, and much more. The goal is for campers to experience all that rowing can offer in a fun and inclusive environment. Sessions may be capped.

The Brockville Rowing Club’s summer camp is endorsed by three-time Olympian Conlin McCabe, who started his rowing career in our Summer Camp.

“The BRC Summer Camp is where I got my start in the sport of rowing. I had a blast as a kid in camp, and still remember the days on the water, the games and the counsellors that I had. The B.R.C summer camp is without equal when it comes to rowing camps. I love the idea of the camp in sculling boats and only wish that opportunity existed when I was of camp age. I credit the start that I got in camp for creating a love of rowing and a desire to be the very best in the world….it continues to fuel my training every day.” -Conlin McCabe

Conlin is a three-time Olympian in rowing and won a Silver Medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
