Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce Announces Terry-Ann Hare as the Recipient of the 2023 Business Person of the Year

Brockville – The Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce is proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of the businesses, organizations and individuals who make a difference in our community.

We are delighted to announce the recipient of the 2023 Award of Excellence for Business Person of the Year, Terry-Ann Hare.

In 2010, Terry-Ann Hare opened Beauty Inside Wellness Spa herself alongside one Contract person. Once a location was secured on Kincaid Street in Downtown Brockville, she looked for ways to create awareness of her new venture.

She immediately became involved in the Brockville Women in Business (BWB) and quickly stepped into a leadership position filling a need in their executive. Brockville Women in Business (BWB) was a young organization at that time with many businesswomen involved in their meetings. Terry-Ann wanted to capitalize on this opportunity and give back to her community.

In those early years of her business, she soon realized that she needed guidance. With limited knowledge of how to manage her own business, the learning curve was huge. Not afraid to listen to the advice of others, she reached out to Leeds Grenville Small Business (formally Leeds Grenville Small Business Centre) and participated in every single coaching and mentoring opportunity that was available. Terry-Ann articulated her vision through their Coaching Program.

In 2013, she moved from Kincaid Place to Central Ave, where she continued to bring in new services, and product lines, and grow her team. For the last few years, Terry-Ann has been looking for an ideal location in order to create capacity. She worked diligently with a business consultant to create a plan, along with her financial advisors who gave her the green light to follow her dream of expanding her business, and finding the correct location was the next step.

On June 1st, 2023, the spa moved into its new location on 5 Home St, adjacent to the St Lawrence River. This gave Terry-Ann 500 extra sq ft, allowing her to increase the size of her team, and the services provided!

Willing to share her expertise with other small business owners, Terry-Ann has invested a significant amount of time and money in training her team and ensuring that they can provide the most professional and relaxing services. She encourages her team to come to her with new ideas to increase their own professional development and to bring more to the business. Terry-Ann has been very open if her team has had their own entrepreneurial vision. Terry-Ann would support their vision and allow them to follow their instinct without a doubt! Terry-Ann is hard-working, brilliant and caring. She is always seeking ways to provide the newest, most advanced systems and equipment, giving her clients the best of the best!

As a Small Business owner, she is always finding ways to give back. The spa’s Grand Opening & Gala at the new location this year was an overwhelming success, so she decided to gift the Victim Services of Leeds and Grenville with a donation of $500.00.

Terry-Ann has been married to her husband Craig Hare for 27 years and has two amazing children, Josh and Sam.

We look forward to celebrating Business Person of the Year with Terry-Ann’s family and friends at the Awards of Excellence Gala being held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at the Brockville Memorial Centre. We will also be announcing the recipients of Business of The Year, Small Business of The Year, the Community Excellence Award, the Tourism Award and the Ben TeKamp Memorial Award.
