Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Leeds Grenville Giving Tree Campaign Spreading Some Holiday Cheer Across the United Counties

Brockville – The Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville (BBBSLG) ‘Giving Tree’ Campaign is now on across Leeds & Grenville collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys, clothing and gift cards.

Bev Heuving, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds and Grenville told Hometown TV12, “Through our Giving Tree Campaign, we are working with local businesses and individuals to spread some holiday cheer! We know that the holidays tend to be a challenging time of year for many of the families we work with, with the pressure of wanting to give their children meaningful gifts competing with the often overwhelming responsibilities of making ends meet, paying bills and putting food on the table.”

They currently have trees set up at businesses across Leeds and Grenville that are promoting the Giving Tree campaign and collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys, clothing and gift cards until December 15th.

Choose a tag on any of the trees and provide a gift for a local child. Please drop off unwrapped gifts to Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville or the participating businesses by December 18th. Your generous gift will be dropped off to families by BBBSLG staff.

This Sunday, December 3rd, the Leeds and Grenville Paramedics are going to be at the Brockville Walmart from 10 am to 2 pm to “Stuff a Truck”.

Heuving said that during the week of December 18th, these gifts will be picked up, sorted and delivered to families, along with a food hamper with everything a family will need to make a Christmas dinner, just in time for the holidays!

She went on to say, “Over 85 families, representing over 240 children across Leeds and Grenville, will be receiving support through the Giving Tree program. This is up almost 30% from last year.”
