Brockville – Former Brockville Mayor Ben Tekamp and former long-time head coach of the Brockville Rowing Club Douglas Marshall were honoured posthumously on Wednesday with the naming of two new streets in one of Brockville’s newest neighbourhoods, St. Alban’s Village, in the southeast part of the City.
Ben TeKamp Terrace and Douglas Marshall Crescent were chosen by the project’s developer, John Armitage, of Brookland Fine Homes in honour of Ben and Doug, his lifelong friends and fellow Brockville Rowing Club Amumni. Both Tekamp and Marshall were involved with the Brockville Rowing Club.
On hand for the special ceremony were the Marshall and TeKamp families along with Brockville Mayor Matt Wren and Councillor Jeff Earle for a ribbon cutting and boat-style christening of the street signs carried out by Pat Marshall and Cathy TeKamp.
