Female Arrested for Assault After a Disturbance

On January 30, 2024, at about 9:15 am, police received a call regarding a fight between two females, at a residence in the South area of Park St. Officers arrived and found that a 31-year-old, female, had assaulted another female by punching her multiple times and damaging and throwing a curtain rod.

Officers diffused the situation and placed the female under arrest. The victim suffered what is considered minor, non-life-threatening injuries. She was charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.00 and later released on conditions with a future court date.

Male Arrested After Failing to Stop for Police and Bail Violations

On January 31, 2024, at about 4:30 pm, an officer from the Brockville Police Service was on patrol when he observed a suspect vehicle that had fled from another officer, two days previous.

The officer attempted to stop the suspect vehicle in the area on Parkedale Ave. The suspect again fled from the officer and the officer did not pursue. The officer was able to positively identify the driver as he had a clear view and the suspect was known to him.

Neighbouring police services were made aware of the incident and that the 18-year-old, male, was wanted.

Later, an officer from the OPP observed the vehicle parked at an address in Lansdowne. They were also able to locate the male suspect. Investigation revealed that he was in the company of a female, whom he was undertaking conditions to abstain from communicating with.

He was arrested and turned over to the Brockville Police where he was held for bail for the offences of flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failure to comply with undertaking.

An Unwanted Male Visiting a Residence was Arrested

On February 1, 2024, at about 2:00 am, police received a call of an unwanted 48-year-old, male, at a residence on Cedar St. He was uncooperative and was believed to have been consuming unknown pills.

When officers arrived, he became very agitated and threatened the officers. This resulted in him being arrested. He resisted the arrest, screamed, spit at and kicked an officer later at the police station. The officer was not seriously injured.

The male was held for a bail hearing for the offences of uttering threats, two counts of assaulting a peace officer and failing to comply with probation.
