Front of Yonge Announces Nominations for Business Awards

Mallorytown – The Economic Development Committee of the Township of Front of Yonge is pleased to announce that fourteen local businesses have been nominated for the Business Recognition Awards.

There are two categories: Business of the Year and New Business of the Year.

The Business of the Year Award recognizes businesses that have been in operation for at least 5 years and have been nominated based on the following criteria: customer service, longevity, community involvement/enhancement, sustainability and employment opportunities.

This year’s nominees are:

• Artfully Recycled
• Corell Custom Cabinetry
• Cruisin’ Auto Sales
• Flower Buds Professional Gardening
• KRC Welding
• Lisa’s Place Family Hair Care
• Mallorytown Pharmacy
• Rock Island Campground
• Skyward Active Health Centre
• X-treme Snowplowing and Lawncare Inc.

The New Business of the Year Award recognizes businesses that have been in operation for five years or under and have been nominated based on the following criteria: community involvement, plans for sustainability, customer service and innovation.

The nominees are:

• 1000 Islands CNC Plasma Designs
• Ballycanoe Naturals
• Rock Cliff Bakery
• Wiseline Building Products

Mayor Roger Haley remarked: “The Business Awards event recognizes and celebrates the local businesses that serve our community. Congratulations to the nominees and thank you to everyone who took the time to submit a nomination.”

Winners will be announced at the Business Awards Breakfast to be held on Friday, April 12th at 8 a.m. at the Mallorytown Legion. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome.

Charlie Mignault, Commissioner of the St. Lawrence Corridor Economic Development Commission will be the guest speaker.
