Brockville – On June 18, 2024, at about 5:30 pm, police received a call regarding an elderly male diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, who was missing from his residence, in the central area of the city. The individual was registered with the Project Lifesaver program through the Alzheimer’s Society.
This is a great program where technology is used in search-and-rescue efforts to locate registered clients who are likely to wander. This program and its technology will assist in locating your loved ones faster, increasing the potential for a safe return. Which, fortunately, was the case yesterday.
The client was located in the area of Highway 2, East of Brockville less than an hour after police were notified. When located he was with a passerby who assisted as they had concerns for the male as he appeared lost. With the assistance of the Project Lifesaver program and Good Samaritans, the gentleman returned home safely.
