VIDEO: Applications Now Open for 2nd Annual BELLES & LADDERS Girls Firefighting Camp

Brockville – The Brockville Fire Department’s second annual BELLES & LADDERS Girls Firefighting Camp is set to be held July 2-4, 2025.

The camp is open to young women between the ages of 15-18 years old and is free of charge for participants. Over three days, the participants will have hands-on training in skills they’d face as firefighters.

The application deadline is May 1, 2025, at 5:00 pm.

The girls learn and experience practical, leadership and teamwork skills in a safe environment, experiencing fire rescue scenarios and exploring opportunities for future growth.

The goals of this camp are to inspire young women to consider a career in the fire service, but more importantly,y to be empowered, to have the confidence to believe they can achieve any goal they set their minds to.

Last year, for the first year the camp was held, the first of its kind in Brockville. Fire Chief Melanie Jones ran a similar camp when she was with the Kingston Fire & Rescue.

Sponsorship Levels:

All money and in-kind donations will help provide a free 3-day experience for the participants regardless of social and economic status.

DEPARTMENT LEVEL- Event Title Sponsorship $5000.00

The Department Level of sponsorship tags your business name with the event, i.e. “Belles and Ladders” Presented by “YOUR BUSINESS NAME”. Anytime BELLES & LADDERS is mentioned through social media, website ads, radio interviews, event branding, your business will be associated with the event. Funds will help with event sustainability and overhead costs.

FIRE CHIEF LEVEL – Building Resources for Camp Sustainability $2000.00

The Chief’s Level of sponsorship focuses on building a resource inventory of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and camp swag/giveaways (clothing, water bottles, etc.), and also to create a reserve fund to subsidize future campers who may have financial barriers.

DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF LEVEL – Day Lunch Sponsorship $1000.00

As a Day Lunch sponsor, your donation will pay for the camp rehab supplies, snacks, and, of course, lunch for the participants and our hard-working volunteers. Volunteers will be assisting from Brockville and surrounding areas.

CAPTAIN LEVEL – Camper Day Sponsorship $500.00

At the Captain’s Level of sponsorship, you will be subsidizing items such as camp t-shirts, bottles, and swag takeaways for each participant. Some of the funds may also be used to assist campers with any potential participation challenges.

FIREFIGHTER LEVEL – Personal Protection Equipment and Facilities Sponsorship $250.00

The Firefighter level sponsorship includes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE: helmets, coat/pants, gloves, and boots. As well as any potential facility/prop rentals for practical training evolutions.

Please note that any cash or in-kind donations that may not fall under the above criteria are also accepted. All and any sponsorship is welcome and greatly appreciated.
