Brockville – The City of Brockville posted an update on the city’s Water Tower Rehabilitation project on Monday on their Facebook Page.
The city’s elevated water tower, which was constructed in 1953, is finally getting rehabilitated.
Landmark Municipal Services ULC has been awarded the $2.7 M contract. They recently moved their construction trailers to the site and installed construction site fencing.
The erection of the scaffolding is scheduled to start next week, as well as work on the bowl’s safety features.
The project is to be ongoing over the summer, with it being completed in November.
The $2.7 million project will be partially funded by the federal and provincial governments through the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Fund.
Staff said that the recoating is required to protect the integrity of the tower and is part of usual maintenance. Contingency measures will be in place to ensure adequate flow/pressure and reservoir levels exist during the time that the tower must be drained for the project.
