Brockville – At a special committee of the whole meeting held last Thursday, April 24. Counties Council backed a plan for an adaptive re-use renovation plan for the existing Maple View Lodge in Athens Township.
Currently, the new G. Tackaberry & Family Home is being built north-west of the existing facility.
Phase 1 of the re-use plan has proposed Affordable Dormitory Style Living 6,268 Sq. Ft. in the current South-West wing, and Licensed Childcare 4,607 Sq. Ft. (Additional Spaces T.B.D.) in the front of the main building.

Phase 2 could see Affordable Independent Living Units in the North-West wing, North-East wing and the South-East wing.
The total project is expected to cost $24.3 million. Counties council will still need to approve all final spending.
