
Lansdowne – A driver is facing multiple charges after they were involved in a serious collision on Highway 401.
On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, shortly after 7:00 a.m., members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to reports of a head-on, three-vehicle collision near mile marker 652 in the westbound direction.
Two of the drivers sustained minor injuries, while the third driver sustained serious injuries. This driver was transported to a regional trauma center, where their injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
Leeds County OPP’s investigation, assisted by OPP Collision Reconstructionists and Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, has now resulted in charges.
28-year-old Jo Ellen BAXTER of Thunder Bay is charged with:
- Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
- Driving a motor vehicle with liquor readily available – Liquor Licence and Control Act
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available – Cannabis Control Act
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on May 30, 2025.
