Brockville Mayor Matt Wren Releases Statement on Strong Mayor Powers

Brockville – Brockville Mayor Matt Wren released a statement on Friday in regards to the province’s Strong Mayor Powers.

“On the list of things I spend time thinking about, Strong Mayor Powers being extended to a municipality like Brockville has never been on it. However, the Province has so announced, and I am sharing a brief statement but have noted that an analysis is forthcoming,” said Mayor Wren in a Facebook post.

“So far, our Council, made up of an array of opinions and philosophies, has consistently supported development and new housing in the City. I don’t expect that to change or new tools to be needed to continue the progress we are making,” the mayor continued.
