
Lyndhurst – Members of the Leeds County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a robbery involving a firearm.
On Thursday, April 17, 2025, just before 9:30 p.m., officers responded to the area of Highway 15, near Back Street, north of Lyndhurst Road, where a good Samaritan stopped to help a stranded motorist with their broken-down, dark-coloured Nissan Rogue.
The victim was approached by an unknown person pointing a firearm. A second suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and stole money. The suspects then fled southbound on Highway 15. The victim was uninjured and observed a partial Ontario license plate beginning with “B-E-C”.
The first suspect is described as a white man, in his 40s, with a brown beard. He was wearing a black and blue plaid jacket. He is believed to be armed. The second suspect is described as a white woman, in her 40s, with blonde hair. She was wearing a black jacket. If you observe a vehicle and/or occupants matching this description, do not approach – call 9-1-1.
Members of the public should always exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings. If you witness a broken-down vehicle and are alone, the OPP recommends you phone the non-emergency number at 1 (888) 310-1122 to send help.
