
Gananoque – On May 20th, 2025, officers with the Gananoque Police Service responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers determined that a pedestrian had been struck and dragged by a vehicle, sustaining significant injuries as a result.
The victim was transported to the hospital by emergency medical services and is expected to recover.
An investigation was conducted by the Gananoque Police Service in collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police – Traffic Collision and Reconstruction (TTCI) Unit.
As a result of the investigation, the 74-year-old driver, a resident of Gananoque, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving Causing Bodily Harm.
