
Mallorytown – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a death that occurred at a campground.
On Sunday, June 22, 2025, shortly after 6:00 a.m., Leeds OPP received reports that a large tree had fallen on a vehicle and a tent. Officers, accompanied by Leeds Grenville Paramedic Services and the Front of Yonge Fire Department, responded and found a male in his 40s deceased in the tent.
The male was from Ottawa and was accompanied by his 10-year-old child, who sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A postmortem examination will be conducted. Leeds OPP is continuing its investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
