
Wolfe Island – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating the discovery of a body at the ferry dock located on Hitchcock Street on Wolfe Island.
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., Leeds OPP received reports of a missing 70-year-old individual who was last seen at the ferry dock on June 27, 2025. While officers were en route to the location, the OPP received additional reports that a body had been located under the dock.
The deceased was identified as the missing person. Their identity will not be released to safeguard the privacy of the grieving family. A postmortem examination will be conducted. Leeds OPP is continuing its investigation in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner, with the assistance of the OPP Forensic Identification Services.
