
Prescott – The South Grenville Senior Rangers lost 5-4 to the South Stormont Mustangs in the Northern Premier Hockey League (NPHL) Saturday in Prescott.
The Mustangs go on the scoreboard first in the first period on goals by #98 Liam Markhauser (#66 Cameron Hebert, #25 Duncan Campbell) and #25 Duncan Campbell (#27 Connor Sills, #66 Cameron Hebert). South Grenville would respond with two goals of their own, picked up by #73 Brandon Gilmour (#37 Broydon Stufko, #22 Liam Hunter) and #17 Spencer Gallant (#40 Jon Desbiens, #37 Broydon Stufko) to tie the game at 2-2 at the end of the period.
Both teams scored one goal in the second period; the Mustangs’ #4 Michael Poirier (#7 Isaac Barr, #12 Justin Mcrae) scored one, while #37 Broydon Stufko (#73 Brandon Gilmour, #40 Jon Desbiens) scored the South Grenville goal.
In the third, South Stormont would score two more goals from #9 Brendan Jacome (#27 Connor Sills, #25 Duncan Campbell) and #27 Connor Sills (#8 Ben Lapier, #4 Michael Poirier) while the Rangers scored only one goal by #7 David Chevrier (#37 Broydon Stufko, #9 Shawn Patterson).
The Mustangs outshot the Senior Rangers 46 to 39.
The Senior Rangers travel to Manotick next Saturday to face the Mariners. Game time is 7:30 pm.
