
Rideau Lakes – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual in connection with an intimate partner violence incident.
On Tuesday, October 29, 2025, members of the Leeds OPP, assisted by the Leeds County Crime Unit, the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and the OPP Canine, executed a search warrant at a residence in Rideau Lakes. They seized pellet guns, ammunition and an explosive device.
As a result of the investigation, the 37-year-old from Smith’s Falls has been charged with:
- Spousal assault
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition – two counts
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – three counts
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm – two counts
The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date.
