Brockville – A 42-year-old man is facing charges after Brockville Police investigated a report from another man who stated he had been stopped on John Street by an individual claiming to be an undercover officer with the Brockville Police Service.
Brockville Police say it occurred on December 17, 2025, at approximately 3:30 pm, with the investigation revealing that the suspect conducted a pat-down search and questioned the complainant about drugs and outstanding warrants.
A short time later, officers arrested the male suspect for the offences of impersonating a peace officer, along with assault.
The police said the suspect later provided a statement with differences in the events, but confirmed there was a meeting between the two where a pat-down search took place.
The suspect was released with conditions and a future court date after being charged with impersonating a peace officer and assault.
