Brockville – Kimani “KJ” Ecceleston makes a triumphant return to the Brockville Braves on Friday night as they beat the Cornwall Colts 5-1 at the Memorial Centre in their first game of the new year.
It took only 4 minutes and 11 seconds for the former Brave to make a statement. He put an exclamation mark on that statement by scoring another goal and almost a third when he hit the crossbar. Welcome back, KJ!
Video Highlights:
I believe by far it was the best, most complete game the Braves have played this year. It was not a cakewalk. The Colts were stubborn and pushed back at every opportunity. A solid team effort, starting with Austin Caley and working out from there, proved the difference.
Jesse Lumsden’s move on the Colts’ D man was my highlight of the night. After beating the Colt defender, Jesse notched a goal high on the far side.
The line of Dirvish, Vohra and Lowry was relentless and the real workhorses. Every line performed at a high level, and the D Corps provided the support.
I think Eccleston’s presence upped the playing level of Drake Sled and Cohen Gill, as they were a force to be reckoned with every time on the ice.
Tuesday, it is up the #29 highway to invade the Bear’s Den starting at 7:30 pm.
